Kyungbok University has obtained certification as an animal health technician training institution.
On December 24, Kyungbok University announced that its Department of Companion Animal Health has received a one-year provisional certification in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' evaluation for animal health technician training institutions, thereby gaining recognition as a credible institution for professional animal health education.
The Department of Companion Animal Health at Kyungbok University, established in 2023, focuses on four specialized fields: animal health, laboratory animals, training, and grooming. The department aims to nurture practical talent necessary for the health and welfare of companion animals.

The evaluation for animal health technician training institutions is a system that comprehensively reviews curriculum, faculty, and practical training environments, granting either provisional or full three-year certification. Newly established departments first receive a one-year provisional certification and may be awarded full certification (three years) in the future.
Jeon Jiyong, President of Kyungbok University, stated, "We will develop the Department of Companion Animal Health into the nation's leading animal health technician training institution, taking the lead in improving companion animal health and welfare as well as advancing related industries."
