The Aerospace Science Museum is a science-based cultural facility designed to share the vision of the future advanced aerospace industry with citizens and to promote scientific culture. Scheduled for completion in September 2027, the museum will be built with a total project budget of 38 billion won, featuring one basement floor and three above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 6,000 square meters.

Since being selected for a public project by the Ministry of Science and ICT in 2021, Jinju City has sequentially carried out key administrative procedures, including the central investment review for local finances. In 2022, the city launched an architectural design competition as well as basic and detailed design services. In 2023, the city completed land compensation and a cultural heritage survey, and then signed the construction contract in 2025.

This project has been promoted through close cooperation with local National Assembly members, and with the groundbreaking ceremony, full-scale construction has now begun.

The museum will feature a planetarium on the first basement floor, a caf? and souvenir shop on the first floor, an aviation technology hall on the second floor, and an astronomy and space hall on the third floor. The facility will be designed as a space where citizens can easily and enjoyably experience the latest aerospace technologies.

Jinju City plans to develop the Aerospace Science Museum as an experiential cultural space where all citizens can become familiar with scientific culture, and as an educational platform where local students can cultivate creativity and grow into future aerospace talent.

Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il stated, "I hope the Aerospace Science Museum will become a core cultural space that helps Jinju City emerge as a leading city in the aerospace field," adding, "I expect it will provide citizens with opportunities to enjoy scientific culture and offer young people a stage to take on challenges for the future."
