The Financial Services Commission and the Korea Fintech Support Center announced on December 23 that they held the "2025 D-Testbed Outstanding Team Awards Ceremony and On-site Meeting" at Front1 in Mapo, Seoul, and presented awards to six teams that achieved outstanding results in this year's D-Testbed program.
The D-Testbed is a program that supports fintech startups and prospective entrepreneurs by allowing them to verify the feasibility of their innovative ideas in advance, using provided data and analytical environments, before commercializing their business concepts.
This year, a total of 40 teams participated in the program during the first and second halves of the year. At today's event, six teams selected as outstanding participants in the 2025 program received awards such as the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission Award.
The grand prize (Chairman of the Financial Services Commission Award) went to PeopleCat, which developed an "AI-based alternative credit evaluation model specialized for small business owners." PeopleCat received high marks for enhancing its business closure prediction model for small business owners by combining overdue information and customer behavior data held by the Korea Credit Information Services with its own commercial district data.
The top excellence awards (Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service Award and Chairman of the Fintech Support Center Award) were presented to FinFit, which developed a "graph-based credit evaluation model for individuals with insufficient financial history," and Fintech Co., Ltd., which developed a "lifelog-based alternative credit evaluation model."
In addition, three teams received excellence awards for developing the following models: "early detection model for credit risk using unstructured data" (Advisor Loren), "personalized loan demand prediction model" (BA_IDEA), and "AI model for voice phishing detection based on behavioral pattern data" (Sungkyunkwan University Artificial Intelligence Fintech Laboratory).
