On December 23, the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Park Seongho) invited 23 participants, including students from the RISE Project Group at Changwon National University, for the "BJFEZ Youth Insight Trip," an event designed to provide firsthand experience of the region's core strategic industries.

The "BJFEZ Youth Insight Trip" is a program created to introduce local youth to the prominence of leading companies within the free economic zone and to encourage local employment and settlement through field-oriented education. It is recognized as a model case of "proactive, field-based administration," with public institutions acting as a bridge between companies and universities, moving beyond "desk-bound administration."

Young People Explore Shipbuilding Industry... Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority and Changwon National University Hold 'BJFEZ Youth Insight Trip' On the 23rd, students from Changwon University participating in the BJFEZ Youth Insight Trip visited Halla IMS and took a commemorative photo.

The highlight of the tour was a visit to Halla IMS, a global shipbuilding equipment company located in Hwajeon Industrial Complex, Gangseo-gu, Busan. Halla IMS is a leading small and medium-sized company in the BJFEZ, renowned for its world-class market share and technological expertise in shipboard level measurement devices and ballast water treatment systems.

Although manufacturing sites are typically difficult to access due to security and safety concerns, this visit was made possible thanks to the active cooperation of the Free Economic Zone Authority and the company's commitment to nurturing local talent. The students observed Halla IMS's smart manufacturing processes firsthand, gaining insight into how the specialized knowledge they learned in the classroom translates into real-world industrial innovation.

Kim Younggu, CEO of Halla IMS, commented, "It is meaningful to be able to show young talent a site that leads the global market. I hope that young people will develop a sense of pride in local companies and meet as colleagues who can grow together."

Before the tour, the students visited the BJFEZ PR Center to learn about the development status and future vision of the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone, confirming its potential as the leading logistics and business hub in Northeast Asia.

Commissioner Park Seongho of the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority emphasized, "The Insight Trip is more than just a tour for young people; it is an opportunity to gain deep insights into local industries. We will strengthen 'practical administration' that directly connects outstanding local companies like Halla IMS with regional universities, creating a BJFEZ where talented individuals want to stay rather than leave."
