Sunchang County Publishes 'Social Survey Report' to Assess Living Standards

According to the county on December 23, the survey was conducted through in-person visits from April 10 to 29, targeting household members aged 15 or older from a sample of 810 households. The survey covered 67 items across eight areas, including education, health and medical care, housing, and transportation.

According to the results, in the county's annual "Satisfaction with County Administration by Sector" survey, the "welfare sector" ranked first in satisfaction, surpassing "environment and administrative services," which had ranked first the previous year. This result is interpreted as evidence that residents are increasingly experiencing the benefits of tailored welfare policies closely related to their daily lives.

In the "Satisfaction with Administrative Operations" survey, satisfaction with "overall county administration" remained at the highest level, as in the previous year. Notably, this year, the item "reflection of public opinion in policy" ranked second among responses, indicating that the county's ongoing communication-centered administration received positive evaluations in the survey results.

Additionally, according to the biennial "Satisfaction with Life" survey, which is a standard item across North Jeolla Province, Sunchang County residents’ satisfaction with key indicators such as "one’s own life," "overall community life," and "happiness (yesterday)" showed a slight increase compared to 2023. The satisfaction level was also higher than the provincial average, drawing attention.

On the other hand, "overall satisfaction with jobs" was lower than the North Jeolla provincial average in most areas, such as "type of work," "working hours," and "working environment," but showed a gradual improvement overall. This indicates the need for mid- to long-term policy responses to revitalize the local economy and improve job conditions in the future.

County Governor Choi Youngil stated, "The social survey is an important resource for objectively confirming the quality of life and policy demands that residents experience in their daily lives. Going forward, we will continue to develop survey items closely related to daily life and realize county administration in which residents can truly feel the changes."
