Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon urged the Administrative Advisory Committee to play a role not only in advancing Gyeonggi Province but also in driving the development of South Korea as a whole.
On December 23, at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Complex, Governor Kim attended the 6th full meeting of the Gyeonggi Province Administrative Advisory Committee and stated, "It seems that Gyeonggi Province serves as a crucial helmsman for the great ship that is South Korea. Efforts to correct past missteps or wrong directions taken during the previous Yoon Suk-yeol administration have fortunately been reflected in many ways by the new government."
He added, "I hope the Advisory Committee will consider Gyeonggi Province's role not just in its own development but also in the broader advancement of South Korea. While it is extremely important to implement good policies that improve the quality of life for residents and further develop the province, communication with the people is equally vital. Please ensure that both policy and communication are well balanced."

The full meeting was organized as a forum to share the outcomes of subcommittee activities and to discuss and refine the future policy direction for Gyeonggi Province.
The agenda covered five major policies: expanding Gyeonggi Province's 360-degree integrated care, piloting a 4.5-day workweek, promoting future growth engines, implementing the Gyeonggi Climate Three Major Projects, and initiatives such as "Insight from Residents" and the Gyeonggi Library.
In particular, the expansion of the "Gyeonggi Province 360-degree Integrated Care" was proposed in advance of the Integrated Care Act, which is set to take effect in March 2026. The discussion focused on ways to address care blind spots and improve service delivery.
The pilot project for a 4.5-day workweek is a pioneering initiative by Gyeonggi Province aimed at substantially improving productivity by reducing working hours. It is significant in that it sets a new standard for labor innovation in South Korea.
Participants, including the advisory committee members, agreed that this meeting serves as a starting point for connecting Gyeonggi Province's core issues-such as climate, labor, care, and growth-into a unified policy flow, and for preparing the next stage of provincial administration.
Park Neunghoo, Chair of the Administrative Advisory Committee, said, "Over the past year, your valuable opinions have provided much reference and guidance for provincial administration. At today's 6th full meeting, I ask that you focus on reviewing the policies raised by each subcommittee and contribute your wisdom and insight."
