Busan Social Service Institute (Director Yoo Kyuwon) announced on December 23 that it had signed a joint cooperation agreement on December 19 at the Busan Bar Association conference room with the Western Elderly Protection Agency (Director Jang Hyewon) and the Busan Bar Association (President Kim Yongmin) to protect the human rights of the elderly.

The purpose of this agreement is to create a safe environment for elderly protection by systematically preventing elder abuse and safeguarding the rights of victims, as well as to strengthen the protection of rights for field workers and the foundation for cooperation between institutions.

In addition, it will offer legal advice on human rights violations such as defamation, assault, and sexual harassment that may be experienced by social workers and counselors during their work.

Yoo Kyuwon, Director of Busan Social Service Institute, said, "This agreement is an important opportunity for the legal and welfare sectors to work together," and added, "We will continue to actively cooperate and provide support for elderly victims and field workers."
