Selected as the Top-Performing Institution Among 226 Cities, Counties, and Districts
Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 23rd that it was selected as the top-performing institution and received the Presidential Award at the "2025 Disaster Management Evaluation" held at the Government Sejong Complex on the 22nd.

This evaluation, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, comprehensively assesses the performance of step-by-step indicators for 340 disaster management agencies nationwide. This year, the evaluation reviewed the achievements of 226 cities, counties, and districts over the past year in 37 indicators across six areas, including disaster administrative and financial management, disaster education and public relations, disaster response management, and disaster relief.
Siheung City was recognized for strengthening its preparedness by providing systematic training for responsible personnel and conducting regular performance checks in disaster management, thereby creating a stable and systematic disaster response environment.
In particular, by being selected as the top-performing institution, the city secured a special grant of 300 million won and a reward of 13.5 million won. Previously, Siheung City had been selected as an excellent institution in this evaluation for five consecutive years from 2018 to 2023.
Lim Byeongtaek, Mayor of Siheung City, stated, "Being selected as the top-performing institution is the result of our accumulated disaster response experience and our field-oriented efforts," adding, "We will continue to stay ahead of the evolving disaster environment and work to make Siheung a safer city for our citizens."
