Gachon University will recruit a total of 1,329 students through the regular admissions process for the 2026 academic year. By admissions group, there will be 511 students for Group A, 326 for Group B, and 492 for Group C.
The most significant change in the 2026 regular admissions is the introduction of the new "General Admission Type 2," which reflects the standardized scores from the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), thereby broadening the options available to applicants.
General Admission Type 1 will continue to use percentile scores as before, and both General Admission Type 1 and Type 2 will select students based entirely on CSAT results (100%).
For the Acting and Performing Arts Department (Directing), which is a practical skills-based admission (CSAT-focused), six students will be selected based on a combination of 60% CSAT and 40% practical skills scores.
Applications for regular admissions will be accepted from December 29 to December 31. The results for CSAT-based admissions will be announced on January 14, 2026, and for practical skills admissions on January 23, 2026. The registration period for successful applicants will be from February 3 to February 5, 2026.
General Admission Type 1 will select a total of 1,090 students and will consider four CSAT subject areas. For humanities and natural sciences tracks, Korean, Mathematics, English, and one subject from Social Studies or Science will be considered, with Korean History being mandatory. Among Korean, Mathematics, and English, the best three subject areas will be weighted at 35%, 25%, and 20%, respectively. For the Pre-Medicine, Pharmacy, and Cloud Engineering programs, two Science subjects will be considered, while for the Pre-Korean Medicine program, two subjects from Social Studies or Science will be included. For arts and physical education tracks, Korean and English will each account for 50% of the evaluation.
The newly established General Admission Type 2 will select a total of 239 students and will consider three CSAT subject areas. Among Korean, Mathematics, English, and one subject from the elective area, the best three subject areas will be weighted at 50%, 30%, and 20%, respectively. Standardized scores will be applied for Korean, Mathematics, and the elective subject, while a converted standardized score will be used for English. The criteria for the converted English standardized score are provided on the Gachon University admissions website.
The final number of students to be recruited may change depending on the number of unfilled positions from the early admissions process that are carried over.
