[2026 Regular Admissions] Inha University Strengthens Major Selection Options... Recruiting a Total of 1,339 Students

New Departments in Advanced Fields Established
Expansion of Major-Free Admissions Quota

Inha University will select 1,339 students, which is 33% of the total 4,054 available spots, through the regular admissions process for the 2026 academic year. In particular, to foster creative and convergent talents equipped with competencies needed for the future society, the university is once again expanding the number of students admitted without a declared major and has established new departments in advanced fields to strengthen students' options for choosing a major.

First, Inha University has expanded the number of students admitted under the Major-Free Selection System, which was introduced last year. Through the regular admissions process, a total of 544 students will be selected for the Interdisciplinary Studies Division within the Frontier Creative College and five interdisciplinary divisions within each college. The Interdisciplinary Studies Division will admit 102 students in the humanities track and 154 students in the science track in Group A. The interdisciplinary divisions within each college will admit 36 students to the Natural Sciences Interdisciplinary Division, 42 to the Social Sciences Interdisciplinary Division, and 34 to the Humanities Interdisciplinary Division in Group A. In Group B, 131 students will be admitted to the Engineering Interdisciplinary Division and 45 to the Business Interdisciplinary Division. The newly established Department of Biofood Engineering will select 9 students out of a total of 22 available spots in Group B.

The main change in Inha University's regular admissions process for the 2026 academic year is the relocation of group assignments. The Interdisciplinary Studies Division, which admits the largest number of students, has been assigned to Group A, while the Engineering Interdisciplinary Division has been assigned to Group B.

The regular admissions process consists of the following selection tracks: College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) - General, Specialized High School Graduates, Rural Area, and Practical/Performance Track. The General, Specialized High School Graduates, and Rural Area tracks select students based 100% on CSAT scores. The Rural Area track is only available if there are remaining spots from the early admissions process. The Practical/Performance Track considers both CSAT scores and practical exam results.

Regarding the calculation of CSAT scores by subject area: Korean and Mathematics use standardized scores; English and Korean History use the university’s own converted scores based on grade; and the Social Studies/Science sections use the university’s own converted standardized scores based on the percentiles of two selected subjects. The university has reduced the difference in converted scores between Grade 1 and Grade 3 for the English section to lessen the burden on applicants. For Korean History, a grade-based point deduction system is applied. For the Social Studies/Science sections, the converted standardized scores are calculated in an integrated manner to minimize advantages or disadvantages between subjects. The university’s own converted standardized scores for the Social Studies/Science sections will be announced on the admissions office website after the release of CSAT results.

For the 2026 academic year regular admissions, if a record of disciplinary action for school violence is noted on the school life record, a point deduction will be applied to the applicant’s converted score according to the nature of the disciplinary action. Applicants with such a record must check the box indicating “Record of Disciplinary Action for School Violence” when submitting their application.
