During this winter season, highly pathogenic avian influenza has occurred not only in chickens and ducks but also in quails. This is the first time it has been detected in quails. The affected areas now span six cities and provinces.

The Central Headquarters has deployed an initial response team to control access, is carrying out culling at the affected farm, and is conducting an epidemiological investigation.

To prevent further outbreaks, the Central Headquarters sent a letter, signed by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, to poultry farm workers and related personnel, urging them to strictly adhere to biosecurity measures during the high-risk period of December and January.

Additionally, to determine whether there are further infections among quails, authorities will conduct a comprehensive inspection of all quail farms nationwide and carry out biosecurity checks at quail farms considered vulnerable to outbreaks.
