Gijang County in Busan Offers Winter Vacation Marine and Fisheries Experience Program for Infants and Elementary Students

13 Free Programs Featuring Marine and Craft Content

Gijang County (Governor Jeong Jongbok) announced that, starting from December 22, it will begin accepting applications for the "Winter Vacation Marine and Fisheries Experience and Education Program Special Lectures" targeted at local infants and elementary school students.

This special program will run for three weeks from January 5 to January 24 next year, offering a total of 33 sessions for local infants and elementary school students every Monday through Saturday. On weekdays (Monday to Friday), there will be two sessions per day, and on Saturdays, there will be one session in the morning.

The program consists of a total of 13 diverse hands-on educational experiences that combine marine topics with the arts, including ▲ "Demon Hunters: Theppy Meets the Sea" ▲ "Making Fish Keyrings with Najeonchilgi Craft" ▲ "Making Sea Image Pencil Holders," and more.

For this educational program, artists from the Gijang Crafts Association, including the "No. 1 Master of Gijang County," will participate as instructors, providing children with more professional and vivid craft experiences.

The program is entirely free of charge, and participants are only required to pay a materials fee of 5,000 won per session. As the program offers high-quality cultural and artistic creative activities at a low cost, it is expected to attract significant interest from both parents and students.

Applications will be accepted online on a first-come, first-served basis through the website of the Gijang County Fisheries Resources Research Center starting at 9 a.m. on December 22.

Gijang County Governor Jeong Jongbok stated, "I hope that the children, who are the leaders of the future, will enjoy learning about the Gijang Sea and marine life through this program and create precious winter vacation memories. We will continue to expand a variety of educational services and experience programs."
