The Sanggo Cultural Festival, named after the characters for "always" (常) and "to think" (考), was designed to help children develop their ability to think and express themselves independently. The festival consists of a spring drawing contest, an autumn writing contest, and a winter piano competition.

The piano competition, held under the subtitle "For Tomorrow's Horowitz Growing Up in Uljin," attracted 50 elementary and middle school students from the local area. Sixteen students were awarded prizes through a fair blind evaluation conducted by pianists and professors.

The Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters Director's Prize included a scholarship and a "master class pass" for a private lesson with a pianist. The recipient was Kang Seyoung, a third-grade student at Uljin Elementary School. Kang Seyoung's parents expressed their gratitude, saying, "We still can't believe Seyoung won first place in the competition, which we never expected. We are happy imagining how much Seyoung will grow through the master class opportunity."

After the competition, pianist Kim Tae-eun, who served as a judge, delivered a special performance that added meaning to the event. Following the performance, Kim Tae-eun remarked, "Seeing the students reminded me of my own childhood when I nervously participated in competitions. The students' skills today were truly impressive, and I hope everyone achieves great results."

Director Lee Seyong commented, "I was proud to see the participating children perform with such serious focus. Although I was anxious when they stopped or made mistakes, everyone's skills were outstanding, which made me feel very satisfied with hosting the competition. I hope the talents discovered through this opportunity will become artists who shine a light on Uljin, and next year, I will work to make this festival a representative children's cultural event that enriches all four seasons."
