This meeting, hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and presided over by Minister Jeong Eun-kyeong, was held to review the progress of integrated care policy and discuss the roles of local governments and practical systems, in order to ensure the stable implementation of the "Act on Integrated Support for Community Care, including Medical and Nursing Services," which is set to be enforced nationwide in March next year. The meeting also included sharing the status of integrated care preparations and support plans by each local government, as well as next year’s implementation plans by relevant ministries.

As the head of a leading local government in integrated care, Mayor Yook participates as a committee member, conveying on-site opinions from local governments and engaging in discussions at the policy design stage. At the 1st Integrated Care Policy Committee meeting held in September, he also presented Chuncheon’s integrated care initiatives on behalf of local governments nationwide.

To proactively respond to the implementation of the integrated care system next year, Chuncheon City has established a dedicated Integrated Care Division and enacted relevant ordinances, thereby building the institutional foundation at an early stage.

As a result of these efforts, Chuncheon City received the Excellence Award in the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s 2025 Local Welfare Project (Integrated Support for Medical and Care Services) evaluation, and also achieved a commendation in the best practice contest for integrated support in medical, nursing, and care services.

Based on the outcomes of the meeting, the city plans to further refine its integrated care implementation plan and detailed projects.

An official from Chuncheon City stated, "Chuncheon is contributing to the stabilization of the system based on its accumulated experience in operating integrated care," and added, "We will continue to develop integrated care models tailored to local conditions in the future."
