On December 22, the city of Yeongcheon announced that Director Youngha Yoo of Dahamkkeum Care Center Branch No. 1 and Director Heesu Choi of Branch No. 2 each received a commendation from the Governor of North Gyeongsang Province at the "2025 K-Bodeum 6000, Village Care Center, and Shared Parenting Center Performance Sharing Event" held in Gyeongju.
Director Youngha Yoo of Dahamkkeum Care Center Branch No. 1 was recognized for opening the city's first center in 2021, contributing to the activation of after-school care and the early establishment of such services in the local community, as well as for promoting exchanges within North Gyeongsang Province through his role as an executive member of the North Gyeongsang Province Dahamkkeum Care Center Association.
Additionally, Dahamkkeum Care Center Branch No. 2 was cited as a model case within the province for creating a safe and enjoyable care environment by offering differentiated community-linked programs such as forest play activities and environmental stewardship initiatives that leverage local characteristics.
A city official stated, "This award is the result of steadfast efforts on the ground to address care gaps and create a quality educational environment," adding, "We will continue to improve the quality of care services so that parents can confidently entrust their children in a safe care environment."
Yeongcheon plans to use this recognition as an opportunity to further strengthen the operation of the Dahamkkeum Care Centers and to lead the way in fostering a nurturing, child-friendly environment for healthy growth through the advancement of its programs.
