The Shinhan Scholarship Foundation announced on December 22, 2025, that it will be recruiting new scholarship recipients for students entering the third year of middle school and those preparing to enter university for the 2026 academic year.
The selection targets are students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, such as those from low-income families, children of fallen or injured public servants, self-supporting youths, and multicultural families, who demonstrate strong academic motivation and high growth potential.
The foundation plans to provide up to 6 million won per year in living expenses and self-development funds to selected scholarship recipients to support their continued studies. In addition, outstanding students will receive an extra 2 million won per year in scholarship funds.
Furthermore, the foundation will offer career, academic, and job mentoring, special lectures by distinguished figures in various fields, employment competency enhancement programs, and overseas master's and doctoral programs to nurture global leaders.
A representative from the Shinhan Scholarship Foundation stated, "Ensuring fair educational opportunities regardless of economic circumstances is the core value of our foundation," and added, "We will continue to expand practical scholarship programs so that recipients can focus on their studies and future preparation."
Since 2006, the Shinhan Scholarship Foundation has provided a total of 41.5 billion won in scholarships to approximately 3,000 recipients, including middle school, high school, and university students from vulnerable groups, as well as law school students and children of fallen or injured police officers, firefighters, and coast guard officers.
