Daegu Regional Office of Veterans Affairs Designates Kangmin Dental Clinic in Gumi as New Veterans' Commissioned Hospital

The Daegu Regional Office of Veterans Affairs (headed by Kim Jongsul) announced that Kangmin Dental Clinic, located in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, has been newly designated as a veterans' commissioned hospital and will begin providing commissioned medical services to eligible veterans starting December 19, 2025.

The veterans' commissioned hospital program allows eligible veterans and their families to conveniently receive medical treatment at designated medical institutions near their residences, rather than having to visit veterans' hospitals located in six major metropolitan cities, including Daegu and Busan. Currently, there are a total of 118 veterans' commissioned hospitals operating in the Daegu and North Gyeongsang region, with at least one facility in each city, county, or district (38 in Daegu and 80 in North Gyeongsang).

With the addition of a dental veterans' commissioned hospital in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, eligible veterans residing not only in Gumi but also in neighboring areas will now be able to receive dental treatment at a nearby medical institution. This is expected to greatly improve both access to medical services and the convenience of receiving care.

Kim Jongsul, head of the Daegu Regional Office of Veterans Affairs, stated, "The new designation of a dental clinic as a veterans' commissioned hospital in Gumi will provide practical support to national merit recipients and their families." He added, "We will continue to expand cooperation with local medical institutions to do our utmost to enhance the health and medical welfare of veterans and their families."
