Trust Stronger Than Vaccines: Yangsan City Public Health Center Receives Minister of Health and Welfare Award

Recognized for Achievements in Infectious Disease Response and Prevention of Spread in 2025

The hard work and dedication of public officials working for the health of 360,000 Yangsan citizens has been recognized with a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare.

The Yangsan City Public Health Center received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award for its proactive implementation of infectious disease control initiatives in 2025, which contributed to strengthening the local community’s response to infectious diseases and preventing their spread.

This award recognizes the center's efforts to prevent the occurrence of infectious diseases in the community in advance, as well as its establishment of a rapid and systematic response system to protect the health and safety of citizens.

The Yangsan City Public Health Center has continuously strengthened its infectious disease surveillance system, conducted infectious disease response drills and bioterrorism preparedness training, and established collaborative systems with related organizations. Through these efforts, the center has proactively carried out infectious disease prevention and response activities. In the event of an outbreak, it has effectively blocked community transmission through rapid epidemiological investigations, thorough contact management, and accurate information dissemination.

Additionally, the center has promoted personal hygiene practices and infectious disease prevention behaviors among citizens by strengthening public campaigns such as the Healthy Summer Campaign, expanding the rental of hand hygiene testing devices, and raising awareness about AIDS and the prevention of antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections.

Kim Jeongmi, Director of the Public Health Center, stated, "When it comes to infectious diseases, initial response and action are extremely important, and working together with citizens makes these efforts even more effective. We will do our utmost to make Yangsan a city safe from infectious diseases."
