December's Theme: "Ma-eum Settlement"
Kyobo Bookstore announced on the 22nd that it will be holding the participatory campaign 'Ma-eum Yeohaeng Reading Challenge' together with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, encouraging people to reflect on the past year through reading.
This December's challenge is themed 'Ma-eum Settlement,' where participants select a book that moved them this year, a memorable quote, and a keyword that expresses their feelings, to complete the '2025 Ma-eum Settlement Report.'
Participants can join the challenge by choosing one of Kyobo Bookstore's four recommended titles-'I Said Goodbye' by Kim Aeran, 'Grapefruit Apricot Club' by Han Roro, 'Mileage Hour' by Choi Yuna, or 'Only Hers' by Kim Hyejin-or by selecting a book of their own choice.
Verification is allowed once per day, and completing at least seven verifications is recognized as finishing the challenge. The challenge will run for about three weeks, until January 11 next year. Among those who participate at least once, 200 will be randomly selected to receive a 5,000 KRW Kyobo Bookstore e-gift certificate. Additionally, among those who complete at least seven verifications, 100 will be randomly chosen to receive a 10,000 KRW Kyobo Bookstore gift card.
A Kyobo Bookstore representative stated, "The end of the year is the best time to look back and organize one's thoughts," adding, "Through this reading challenge, we hope to help people build reading habits and contribute to the spread of reading culture."
