Kkumdori Walnut Pastries Decorate the Cake... A Millennials & Gen Z-Style Dessert
Limited to 20 Per Day, Sold by Advance Reservation Only
Daejeon City has launched a new product for the year-end season: the "Kkumdori Walnut Cake," which utilizes the popular "Kkumdori Walnut Pastry."
The newly introduced "Kkumdori Walnut Cake" is a character-themed dessert, featuring Kkumdori Walnut Pastries arranged decoratively on top of a cake. Young people participated directly in its production process, making it a Millennials & Gen Z-style dessert that captures not only flavor but also emotional appeal.
This product is produced in limited quantities of 20 per day and is available for purchase only through advance reservation the day before. It is sold at the Walnut Pastry Workshop in Jung-gu (3, Daejong-ro 286beon-gil, Jung-gu).
Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, stated, "By reimagining Kkumdori Walnut Pastry in the form of a cake, we have created a product perfect for families or couples to enjoy together. With its cute character design, fun presentation, and the emotional touch of young creators, I expect it will become a go-to dessert for the year-end season."
Meanwhile, since its initial launch in August, Kkumdori Walnut Pastry has surpassed cumulative sales of 250 million won in just four months, rapidly growing into a representative local dessert and contributing to youth job creation and enhancing Daejeon City's urban marketing.
The second branch of the Walnut Pastry Workshop in Jung-gu is scheduled to open near Sung Sim Dang in December.
