Hyundai Motor Group to Debut Humanoid 'Atlas' at CES 2026

Hyundai Motor Group announced on December 22 that it will unveil its ecosystem expansion strategy, including the commercialization of artificial intelligence (AI) robotics, at CES 2026, the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition. The next-generation electric Atlas humanoid robot from Boston Dynamics will also be demonstrated live for the first time.


On January 5 next year (local time), Hyundai Motor Group will present its core AI robotics strategy under the theme "Partnering Human Progress: AI Robotics, From Lab to Life" at the CES 2026 Media Day, held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, USA.


During Media Day, the company will showcase: ▲ demonstrations of cutting-edge AI robotics technology ▲ strategies for building human-robot collaboration ▲ the creation of an AI robotics ecosystem by leveraging the capabilities of its group companies ▲ and business expansion strategies through applications and validation in manufacturing environments. In particular, the next-generation electric Atlas will be presented live on site as a key example of the AI robotics strategy.

Additionally, Hyundai Motor Group will announce a strategy to validate robots using the Software Defined Factory (SDF) and expand the AI robotics ecosystem based on this approach. SDF is an advanced smart factory operated by data and software.


The announcement of Hyundai Motor Group's AI robotics strategy will be available on the group's global YouTube channel. It will be broadcast live at 1:00 p.m. local time on January 5 and at 6:00 a.m. Korea Standard Time on January 6.


During the main exhibition, held from January 6 to 9 next year, the group will demonstrate integrated AI robotics technology by combining the capabilities of its group companies, showcasing changes in customers' daily lives and work environments.


The exhibition space will include an experience zone that recreates the AI robotics research environment, as well as content that allows visitors to directly experience the evolving technology development process. In addition, there will be hourly technology presentations using advanced AI robotics such as Atlas, Spot, and MobED, offering live demonstrations and in-depth explanations.
