Ahn Seyoung, the world's top badminton player, conquered the King of Kings tournament, the final event of the year, and set a new record for the most wins in a single season.

On December 21, at the Olympic Sports Center in Hangzhou, China, Ahn Seyoung defeated Wang Zhiyi of China, ranked No. 2 in the world, 2-1 (21-13, 18-21, 21-10) in the women's singles final at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Finals 2025.


With this victory, Ahn Seyoung lifted her 11th trophy of the season, tying the all-time record for the most wins in a single season across both men's and women's competitions.


In the history of world badminton, Ahn Seyoung is only the second player to reach the top 11 times in a single season, following Kento Momota of Japan, who achieved this feat in men's singles in 2019.


Ahn Seyoung claimed titles at the World Tour Finals, which serves as the King of Kings tournament, three Super 1000 series events (Malaysia Open, All England Open, Indonesia Open), six Super 750 series events (India Open, Japan Open, China Open, Denmark Open, French Open, Australia Open), and the Super 300 Orl?ans Masters.
