"Order at Japanese Restaurants with LG Kiosks"

LG Electronics Partners with Yusen, Japan's Leading Sales Management System Provider,
to Supply Digital Kiosks to Food and Beverage Establishments

LG Electronics has partnered with Japan's leading sales management system provider to begin supplying digital kiosks to local food and beverage establishments.

On the 21st, LG Electronics Japan announced that it has formed a partnership with Yusen, an Internet of Things-based store solutions company, and will begin supplying digital kiosks to restaurants and cafes across Japan starting this month. Prior to this, pilot operations were conducted from October at cafes and restaurants in central Tokyo, as well as at tourist restaurants in the Nikko area near Tokyo.

In Japan, a declining birth rate and aging population are leading to a shrinking workforce, while the number of foreign tourists is increasing. As a result, demand for kiosks where customers can order and pay directly is rapidly rising. There is also a growing trend to replace the button-operated ticket vending machines, which have been used in restaurants and retail stores, with digital kiosks.

The two companies plan to accelerate the digital transformation of Japan's food and beverage sector by combining Yusen's ordering solution with LG Electronics' kiosks. According to market research firm Circana Japan, as of the end of last year, there were approximately one million food and beverage establishments in Japan.

LG Electronics' 27-inch kiosk features a premium design, excellent touch sensitivity, and fast response speed. Proprietary surface treatment technology reduces light reflection, and a high-brightness, high-resolution panel ensures visibility in various lighting conditions.

By applying Yusen's sales management system, the kiosks provide an intuitive user interface and user experience, with multilingual settings available in Japanese, Korean, English, and Chinese. Artificial intelligence-based menu recommendations and order data analysis functions also support the development of store operation strategies.

LG Electronics and Yusen plan to expand their kiosk product lineup and broaden their collaboration to cover the entire store environment, including digital signage.

Currently, LG Electronics supplies digital kiosks to restaurants, cafes, educational institutions, and public organizations in major regions including Korea, Asia, North America, Central and South America, Europe, and the Middle East and Africa.

Min Dongseon, Head of the ID Business Division at LG Electronics, stated, "We will continue to expand our influence in the global kiosk market, including Japan, through LG Electronics' digital kiosks, which are differentiated by design and technology."
