An ordinary day became a sentence, and citizens became writers.
The winners of the 2025 "A Writer Too" Excellence Awards, part of the "Yangsan City Newsletter" published by Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province, have been selected.
On the afternoon of December 19, Yangsan City held the 2025 "A Writer Too" Excellence Awards Ceremony in Seminar Room 1 at the Yangsan Business Center. "A Writer Too" is a student participation section of the Yangsan City Newsletter, launched in 2023 to encourage literary and creative activities among local students and to expand participation from citizens of various backgrounds.
This year, a total of 147 works were published in the Yangsan City Newsletter. Through expert review, 10 works were selected as outstanding: one Grand Prize, three Excellence Awards, and six Encouragement Awards.
The Grand Prize went to Kim Sohyun, a second-year student at Jeungsan High School, for her prose work "First Love." The Excellence Awards were received by Cho Harin (first grade, Ganam Elementary School), Kim Jua (fifth grade, Gayang Elementary School), and Park Seungwoo (fifth grade, Ganam Elementary School).

Each awardee received a plaque engraved with their work.
A representative of the Yangsan Literary Association, who served as a judge, commented, "We were able to see that all the works, from those filled with the rich imagination of young students to those highlighting the fresh sensibility of teenage girls, possessed outstanding literary merit."
Mayor Na Dongyeon said, "Once again, we were able to witness the exceptional creativity, imagination, and literary sensibility of our students. We will make every effort to ensure that even more students take an interest and participate in the future."
