The project is a student-led educational activity that moves away from a focus on reporting and punishment, instead fostering students' social and emotional skills to prevent school violence. In particular, the project was jointly planned by the Department of Student Life Education, the Department of Convergence Education, and the Department of Physical and Health Education under the Regional Education Bureau of the Provincial Office of Education, and is currently being implemented in 101 elementary, middle, and high schools in the province.
To spread best practices, the performance sharing meeting featured participatory activities such as: ▲ (Student Life) the journey to create a peaceful school through mutual respect, "Let's Grow!"; ▲ (Arts) busking enjoyed together; ▲ (Physical) cooperation-based physical activities and a school violence quiz show; and ▲ (Relationships) an empathy talk on "Becoming a Defender Against School Violence."
Kim Jiwon, a teacher at Doraeul Middle School who participated in the performance sharing meeting, shared, "This event was a valuable experience that made me realize that efforts to prevent school violence are a process that leads to the growth of the entire school community."
This year, the Provincial Office of Education has promoted a multifaceted school violence prevention policy, including the full implementation of the School Culture Responsibility Agreement, the establishment of a pool of school violence prevention experts, and the operation of a consultative body with related organizations. As a result, the number of reported school violence cases in 2025 decreased by 11.72% compared to the previous year, and in particular, the 130 schools that focused on operating the School Culture Responsibility Agreement and school violence prevention activities saw a 16.58% decrease.
Kim Younggyu, Director of the Department of Student Life Education at the Provincial Office of Education, stated, "We will establish the Let's Grow Project as a sustainable, everyday school violence prevention activity," adding, "We will strengthen communication between schools and education support offices to restore the educational capacity of schools and spread a peaceful school culture."
