According to a press release from the Prime Minister's Office on the 20th, Prime Minister Kim hosted the 7th "Debate Nation" event at the Prime Minister's official residence in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, on the morning of the 18th. He invited Faker, a prominent figure in e-sports, for an in-depth conversation. The event was conducted in an interview format, with Faker responding to questions from the Prime Minister.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Kim emphasized, "Alongside K-Food and K-Dramas, K-Games have become a key pillar in Korea's journey to becoming a cultural powerhouse," adding, "The world has already recognized their value."

In response to the Prime Minister's questions, Faker reflected on his six LoL World Championship victories and his unprecedented three consecutive titles, saying, "It was such a meaningful moment that it hardly felt real, and I consider it a great honor."

Regarding the game industry and e-sports policies, Faker noted, "When I debuted, there were not enough systems or social recognition, but now things have improved noticeably," and evaluated that "the game industry is establishing itself as a core national industry."

However, he pointed out, "While Korea's e-sports competitiveness is world-class, it is difficult to say that Korean games lead the industry as a whole," and added, "It is disappointing to see an increase in mass-produced games aimed at short-term profits rather than creativity and inspiration."

He went on to say, "I hope games can develop into a medium that, like movies and other content, has a positive impact and motivates people, beyond just simple entertainment."

Asked for advice to parents whose children dream of becoming professional gamers, he responded, "Before my debut, I also struggled with concerns about income and interrupting my studies," and added, "I fully understand the worries parents have."

He continued, "Since the chances of success are not realistically high, there are areas where compromise is necessary," and admitted, "If I were a parent, I would not have easily given permission either."

Known as an avid reader, Faker introduced the book "I Could Be Wrong" as one that left a strong impression on him.

In his closing remarks, Prime Minister Kim said, "Don't lose your initial passion, keep challenging yourself with the support of your family and fans, and I hope you continue to play a positive role for the country and society."

The video of this conversation has been released online and will also be broadcast on KTV on the 24th.
