Discussion on Human Rights Protection and Organizational Culture Improvement
"Creating a Medical Environment Where We Grow Together"
The Nursing Department of the Southeast Regional Radiation Medical Center (Director Lee Changhun) announced on the 19th that it recently held a total of three workshops for nursing assistants and general staff in the main auditorium on the second floor of the hospital building.
For the nursing assistant program, the workshop was organized to be more substantial by reflecting the results of the 2024 workshop evaluation. The general staff workshop, on the other hand, was held for the first time since the operational system was changed following the conversion of dispatched and contract workers to regular employees in 2025.
The workshop consisted of a special lecture by an expert instructor from the National Health Insurance Service's Healthcare Workforce Human Rights Counseling Center, as well as discussion activities aimed at fostering a positive organizational culture.
The special lecture, under the theme of "Human Rights Protection and Creating a Safe Medical Environment," covered an overview of human rights protection for healthcare workers, types of human rights violations and protection systems, response strategies for each type, and measures to establish a safe medical environment. In particular, by presenting concrete prevention, response, and management strategies based on actual cases within medical institutions, the lecture helped participants gain a deeper understanding.
In the subsequent discussion session, themed "A Team That Grows Together," participants freely exchanged opinions on topics such as role conflicts and collaboration between job categories, the direction for a nursing department that grows together, educational topics to improve job satisfaction, and suggestions, thereby broadening their mutual understanding.
A nursing assistant who attended the workshop shared, "It was a meaningful time as I was able to share opinions with colleagues and better understand each other's challenges."
Another nursing assistant commented, "Through the human rights violation quiz, I was able to learn about real-life cases and specific response methods, which I believe will be very helpful in the field."
A general staff participant also said, "This was my first time participating in a workshop, and it was good to have the opportunity to communicate with management."
Kim Youngmin, the nurse in charge of education, evaluated, "The various opinions shared on site can contribute to setting future educational directions and improving work processes."
Jang Heesoon, Head of the Nursing Department, stated, "To enhance the quality of nursing through the operation of integrated nursing care wards, it is essential to provide practice-oriented education, foster collaboration and communication between job categories." She added, "I hope this workshop serves as an opportunity for members to reflect on their roles, sense of belonging, and pride, and to grow together. The Nursing Department will continue to make efforts for positive and stable operations."
