The Busan Green Environment Support Center at National Pukyong University (Director Lee Taeyoon) and the RISE Project Group (Director Ha Myungshin) held the "Busan Eco-friendly Industry Government-Industry-Academia Strategic Forum" in the main conference room of the Environmental and Marine Building on December 16, 2025.
This event was organized to explore ways to cooperate on the development of environmental technologies and the revitalization of related industries in the Busan region. Approximately 90 participants attended, including Lee Taeyoon, Director of the Busan Green Environment Support Center; Kim Chanjung, Head of the RISE Project Group; Seong Hyundal, Busan Metropolitan Council member; Lee Geunhee, President of Busan Environmental Corporation; Hwang Soyong, President of the Busan Water Industry Promotion Association; as well as representatives from environmental companies, Busan city officials, and university faculty members.
In the first session, under the theme "Current Status and Prospects of the Environmental Industry," local environmental companies such as DH Tech, Aquacell, Easy Evertech, Daejin Industry, Taehyun ENG, Dongin Water Solution, and YB Engineering gave presentations introducing trends in environmental technology and case studies of industrial applications.
The second session featured academic presentations on "Environmental Technology Development and Cooperation," including: biofilm control using welfare animals (Professor Lee Seonki, Korea Maritime & Ocean University); resource recovery from waste through thermochemical processes (Professor Cho Seongheon, Pusan National University); molecular structure factorization and water treatment prediction model development using deep learning techniques (Professor Kang Jinkyu, Gyeongsang National University); and trends and case studies of AI applications in the environmental industry (Professor Nam Gijeon, National Pukyong University).
This was followed by a roundtable discussion and environmental consulting advisory meeting on "Exploring Cooperation Measures for Joint Development and Commercialization of Environmental Technologies," chaired by Lee Taeho, President of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Branch of the Korean Society of Environmental Engineers, with participation from local university experts and representatives from Busan Environmental Corporation.
Lee Taeyoon, Director of the Center (Dean of the College of Environment and Marine Science at National Pukyong University), emphasized, "We will continue to establish practical cooperation models that enable joint development and commercialization of environmental technologies through close collaboration among local public institutions, industry, and universities."
The "Busan Eco-friendly Industry Government-Industry-Academia Strategic Forum" is being held at the National Pukyong University.
