Pukyong National University (President Bae Sanghoon) held a ceremony on December 18 in the university headquarters reception room to mark the donation of a development fund by Dr. Jung Yongpyo, CEO of KAM Co., Ltd.

Dr. Jung Yongpyo, an alumnus of Pukyong National University, donated 300 million won to support the development of his alma mater, which will celebrate its 80th anniversary next year. This donation marks the beginning of a relay of contributions for the university's 80th anniversary development fund. On this day, Dr. Jung personally handed over the donation to President Bae Sanghoon.

After graduating from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Pukyong National University in 1979, Dr. Jung established KAM Co., Ltd. in 1997. Since then, he has led the advancement of Korea's aerospace industry by exporting aluminum and titanium aircraft components to global aviation companies such as Boeing and Airbus.

From 2019 to 2020, he served as the 12th president of the Pukyong National University Alumni Association, where he actively promoted alumni networking and contributed to the university's development through various initiatives. In recognition of these achievements, he was awarded an honorary doctorate in engineering from his alma mater this year.

Dr. Jung has also been at the forefront of social contribution through personal donations. Prior to this donation, he contributed 21 million won to Pukyong National University, as well as 10 million won to the Kim Youngsik Three-Children Birth Support Foundation, and 20 million won to Dong-A University Hospital, among others, thereby helping to spread the culture of giving across various fields.

Dr. Jung said, "After graduation, I have always thought about what I should do for the university and society, as I have been recognized as a businessman and served as the alumni association president. I hope to play a small part in nurturing future talent and helping my alma mater grow into a key hub for the development of Busan and the nation."

Pukyong National University plans to continue the development fund relay until its 80th anniversary next year. The funds raised will be used to foster outstanding talent and support academic research, laying the foundation for the university to advance beyond a research-centered institution to become an AI innovation and globally specialized university.
