First Reveal of an Open Agricultural Operating System (OS) Connecting Machinery, Data, and Services
Global Manufacturing and Technology Partners Join Forces with Diverse Agtech Companies... Expanding an App-Based Ecosystem
Agmo, an agtech startup leading the smart transformation of agriculture, announced that it introduced its open agricultural operating system (OS) 'SeamOS' to the global market at 'AgriTechnica 2025,' the world's largest agricultural technology exhibition, held in Hanover, Germany this past October. The company is led by CEO Park Seungjin and Jeon Chanwoo.
SeamOS is an "open agricultural digital ecosystem operating system (OS)" that allows agricultural machinery manufacturers, agtech app developers, and agricultural service companies to participate freely. It was developed to address the disconnect in the existing structure where agricultural machinery, data, and digital services operated separately.
Currently, agricultural machinery systems and services are separated by model and manufacturer in the field, making it difficult to utilize data and expand digital functions. SeamOS, as an open operating system, enables various agricultural machines and services to connect and operate within a single environment. Manufacturers (OEMs) can easily expand their own functions or digital services in the form of apps on SeamOS. In addition, a variety of agricultural apps developed by domestic and international agtech companies can be integrated into the SeamOS ecosystem, providing a wide range of digital agriculture services such as automation, data analysis, and decision support. This allows for the creation of an open ecosystem in which manufacturers, app developers, service companies, and farmers can all participate together.
The development of SeamOS involved global mobility technology partners such as Bosch and AutoIT, which enhanced the stability and equipment compatibility of the operating system.
Not only manufacturers, but also various service app developers and service companies are joining the SeamOS ecosystem, rapidly expanding digital agriculture services. Starting with domestic adoption of SeamOS, Agmo plans to actively pursue OEM partnerships and service launches in Northeast Asian markets such as Japan and China from next year. The Northeast Asian region is considered a promising market for direct application and expansion of SeamOS-based apps and services, as its agricultural environment is similar to that of Korea.
CEO Park Seungjin stated, "SeamOS is an operating system that connects the existing structure where agricultural machinery and digital services are separated, and it is a digital agriculture ecosystem platform created together by manufacturers, service companies, and farmers. We will focus on expanding the SeamOS ecosystem beyond Northeast Asia to Europe and North America in collaboration with global manufacturing and technology partners."
