On December 19, CEO Jung posted on her YouTube community, saying, "Regardless of the reasons behind this incident, I feel deeply sorry and heavy-hearted for having caused trouble to so many people who have trusted and supported me," and added, "I feel a profound sense of responsibility for unintentionally causing both tangible and intangible losses to many."
However, she stated, "The demand to pay all income earned over the past two years, including from medical practice, as a settlement by threatening to disclose baseless information is clearly extortion, which I cannot overlook," and added, "Furthermore, I want to make it clear that the claims being circulated by the other party regarding our private relationship are entirely fictitious."
Previously, on December 17, CEO Jung filed a stalking complaint against former commissioned researcher A, claiming to have been stalked by A for about six months. However, A’s side has countered by alleging sexual misconduct and copyright infringement arising from the employment and status relationship, leading to an ongoing dispute over the facts.
Regarding A's claim that "sexual violence occurred within a power dynamic based on employment and status," CEO Jung stated, "I want to make it absolutely clear that the allegation of a relationship based on coercion is never true," and added, "There was no extramarital relationship with the other party, and I deeply regret that the facts are being distorted and misrepresented. All facts related to this matter will be thoroughly examined and determined through the ongoing legal proceedings."
On the copyright issue, she explained, "This was already mutually agreed upon, with joint authorship and a 30% royalty split, and the royalty settlement has been completed," adding, "Going forward, we plan to conduct a detailed verification of each party’s contributions and file a damages lawsuit through civil court, and the book in question will be discontinued."
She further stated, "We will take strong legal action against the dissemination of false information and defamation by the other party," and added, "Due to personal attacks in comments and secondary posts based on the other party’s one-sided claims, many people are suffering severe psychological harm. We are collecting comments involving unfounded insults, personal attacks, abusive language, and slander to determine whether legal action is necessary, so please refrain from baseless slander and defamatory remarks."
Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the case. According to Yonhap News Agency, the Bangbae Police Station in Seoul stated that they are currently coordinating the investigation schedule with CEO Jung and the complainant.
