Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 19 that it was selected as an outstanding city (encouragement award) in the "2025 Provincial Tax Special Collection Measures Performance Evaluation" organized by Gyeonggi Province on December 18.
This evaluation was based on the results of special collection measures implemented to achieve provincial tax collection targets. It comprehensively analyzed the effectiveness of overall tax source management, including the review of donation-based tax reductions, corporate tax audits, and post-management of various tax reductions.
Pocheon City was recognized for its excellence in tax administration in the field of special provincial tax collection as a result of focused efforts to review the appropriateness of applying local tax reduction systems and to prevent omissions in tax sources. In particular, the city received high marks for its on-site investigations and systematic management in areas such as reviewing tax reductions related to large-scale development projects, managing acquisition taxes for corporations, and post-management of temporary two-household tax reductions.
An official from Pocheon City stated, "This selection is the result of our continuous efforts to thoroughly review the entire tax reduction system and to realize fair taxation," adding, "We will continue to focus our tax administration capabilities on reducing blind spots in tax source management and enhancing tax equity."
Pocheon City plans to continue its tax source management activities, including special provincial tax collection measures, to realize fair taxation and to do its utmost to establish a stable foundation for local fiscal management.
