According to the museum on December 19, this special exhibition brings together traditional wooden furniture from the museum's collection and flat paintings by artists Park Hyunmin and Choi Mansik in a single space, creating a harmonious display of tradition and modernity, nature and art.

The exhibition is designed to offer visitors a new cultural experience by adding modern artistic interpretations to the aesthetic of wooden furniture, which is a traditional cultural heritage.

The exhibition hall features a variety of traditional wooden furniture, such as bandaji (storage chests) and meoritjang (head cabinets, including boseonjang and Jeonjujang), offering a glimpse into the lifestyle of the Joseon era. Through the practicality and artistry of these handcrafted pieces, visitors can appreciate the aesthetic value and depth of traditional Korean woodworking.

Artist Park Hyunmin presents works that delicately express the textures of emotion found in everyday objects, using refined brushstrokes and sewing techniques. These pieces, imbued with memories and the passage of time, blend with the traditional furniture to add a warm lyricism to the exhibition space.

Artist Choi Mansik showcases works that combine acrylic and oil paint on hanji (traditional Korean paper) to realize a sculptural beauty where tradition and modernity coexist, expanding the mystical imagery of the divine realm into a uniquely Korean aesthetic sensibility.

A Jeonbuk Forest Museum official stated, "We are introducing new changes to our exhibition space through seasonal special exhibitions," and added, "We hope this exhibition will serve as an opportunity for visitors to engage with content that connects art and forestry, tradition and modernity."

The exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the museum is closed every Monday. Visitors can also enjoy the permanent exhibition hall and the video hall along with the special exhibition. For more information, please contact the Jeonbuk Forest Museum.
