The opening ceremony was attended by more than 80 people, including Yangju Mayor Kang Suhyun, Yangju City Council Chairman Yoon Changcheol, provincial and city council members, representatives from the entrusted institution, and heads of organizations related to startups, who gathered to celebrate the launch of the center.

During the event, the Yangju Startup Growth Support Center shared its operational direction and support programs, announcing that it will serve as a hub to actively foster the growth of local startups.

The center will be operated by the Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation of Kwangwoon University, providing growth-stage programs for companies within seven years of establishment, including expert mentoring, business support, specialized education by sector, investment linkage and networking, and company diagnosis and IR capability enhancement.

With the opening of the center, Yangju City plans to systematically build a support ecosystem that connects "startup-growth-investment," and to strengthen the foundation for innovative companies to stably settle and continuously expand in Yangju by organically linking local industry demand with startup technologies.

In addition, in connection with the Special Zone for Educational Development project, the city will expand entrepreneurship education and experiential programs for youth, and, through cooperation with local schools and educational and related institutions, will systematically nurture young entrepreneurial talent by providing step-by-step support from basic entrepreneurship education, idea discovery, mentoring, startup camps, to presentations and pitching (mock IR).

Furthermore, in the long term, the city envisions building a regionally self-sufficient innovation ecosystem in which startups that have grown locally will settle and cluster in Gyeonggi Yangju Technovalley.

Meanwhile, the Yangju Startup Growth Support Center is equipped with seven individual office spaces for companies and ten single/shared workspaces, and plans to recruit additional resident companies in January 2026.
