The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency received the Grand Prize in the public institution category at the "2025 Gyeonggi-do Social Economy Public Procurement Best Practice Contest," hosted by Gyeonggi-do.
The agency implemented the "Social Economy Public Procurement Activation System," which established public procurement for social economy organizations not merely as a performance management metric, but as a core part of the agency’s overall management and performance evaluation system.
The "Social Economy Public Procurement Activation System" is a program that sets procurement targets for social economy organizations at the planning stage, expands participation opportunities by linking purchase plans by department at the implementation stage, compiles monthly performance data and shares it with all employees at the monitoring stage, and encourages participation at the feedback stage by reflecting results in performance evaluations and rewarding outstanding departments.
As of last year, the agency’s public procurement from social economy organizations amounted to 3.57 billion KRW, accounting for 30% of the total public procurement from social economy organizations by public institutions in the province subject to last year’s public institution management evaluation.
Kim Byungki, Director of Management Planning at the agency, stated, "Social economy public procurement is an important means for public institutions to realize social value," adding, "With this Grand Prize as momentum, our agency will take the lead in creating an environment where social economy organizations can grow stably."
