Gadeokdo New Airport Construction Corporation and Korea Water Resources Corporation Join Forces to Revitalize Eco Delta City

Supporting Resident Resettlement,
Relocating Headquarters,
and Joint Efforts for Carbon-Neutral Infrastructure

On December 18, Gadeokdo New Airport Construction Corporation (Chairman Lee Yoonsang) and Korea Water Resources Corporation (President Yoon Seokdae) signed a memorandum of understanding to successfully promote the Gadeokdo New Airport construction project and revitalize Busan Eco Delta City (EDC).


Through this agreement, the two organizations have agreed to cooperate in various areas, including: supporting the stable and successful resettlement of residents affected by the Gadeokdo New Airport construction project; relocating the corporation's headquarters to Eco Delta City to help revitalize the area; and jointly pursuing projects to establish carbon-neutral and smart infrastructure.


The construction of Gadeokdo New Airport and the development of Eco Delta City are considered key national projects that will help realize Busan as a global hub city and drive innovative growth in the southeastern region. This agreement is expected to maximize synergies by linking large-scale national projects, and to contribute to balanced regional development and the creation of an eco-friendly future city.


Jung Imsu, Vice President of Gadeokdo New Airport Construction Corporation, stated, "The construction of the new airport and the development of Eco Delta City are major projects to complete Busan as a global hub city. By cooperating with Korea Water Resources Corporation, we will support the stable resettlement of residents in the planned airport area and actively contribute to the revitalization of Eco Delta City through the relocation of our headquarters."


An Jeongho, Director of the Green Infrastructure Division at Korea Water Resources Corporation, commented, "The creation of future cities based on eco-friendly infrastructure can achieve even greater results through cooperation between public institutions. We will work closely with the corporation to establish smart and carbon-neutral infrastructure."


Building on this agreement, the two organizations plan to gradually implement concrete joint projects through ongoing consultative bodies and practical cooperation.
