Busan Urban Corporation Expands Mini Solar Panel Installations in Public Rental Housing

Alleviating Electricity Bill Burden for Vulnerable Groups
Advancing Energy Welfare and Carbon Neutrality Together

Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, led by President Shin Changho) is actively participating in the "2025 Mini Solar Panel Distribution Project for Vulnerable Groups" promoted by Busan City, aiming to alleviate the electricity bill burden for residents of public rental housing from vulnerable backgrounds.

This project is a policy initiative by Busan City designed to reduce energy costs for vulnerable groups, particularly as the burden of cooling and heating expenses increases due to heatwaves and cold spells. Through this project, Busan Urban Corporation has completed the installation of mini solar power systems in 20 units of its owned public rental housing.

Households equipped with mini solar panels are expected to see a monthly reduction in electricity bills of approximately 20,000 to 30,000 won. This is anticipated not only to ease the housing cost burden for residents but also to contribute to the expansion of renewable energy in line with the government's carbon neutrality policy.

Taking this project as an opportunity, the corporation plans to further strengthen housing welfare policies targeting energy-vulnerable groups and support the creation of a sustainable urban environment by promoting the use of eco-friendly energy.

Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "I hope this mini solar panel distribution project will provide tangible help in reducing housing costs and improving living conditions for public rental housing residents," adding, "We will faithfully fulfill our role as a public institution to enhance residential stability and housing welfare for our residents."
