Proving Competitiveness in Agricultural Product Distribution

This evaluation comprehensively assessed the efforts and achievements of 20 cities and counties in the province to promote the distribution of agricultural products from mountain areas. The assessment was conducted both quantitatively and qualitatively, focusing on key criteria such as shipment performance of specialized items, the operational performance of integrated marketing organizations, the adequacy of securing national funding and budget execution, and efforts to foster distribution organizations in mountain areas.
Yeongju City was selected as an outstanding city and county, receiving high marks for systematically operating integrated marketing organizations based on stable shipment performance of specialized items, and for actively promoting mountain area distribution policies in connection with government initiatives.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the '2025 Agricultural Products Mountain Area Distribution Comprehensive Evaluation Meeting,' which will be held from December 18 to 19 at the Gyeongju Hilton Hotel. The event will be attended by more than 200 participants, including officials from North Gyeongsang Province, city and county government officials, as well as representatives from integrated marketing and shipment organizations. They will share this year's achievements in mountain area distribution and discuss policy directions for the coming year.
Yeongju City has been striving to enhance the competitiveness of agricultural product distribution by fostering distribution organizations, improving distribution structures, and strengthening integrated marketing. This award is seen as the result of policy efforts and field-oriented administration coming to fruition.
Shin Ingeun, CEO of Yeongju City Cooperative Joint Business Corporation, said, "It is significant that a stable sales channel and integrated marketing system are being effectively established in the field," adding, "We will further solidify the producer-centered shipment system and work to strengthen competitiveness in mountain area distribution."
Kang Maeyoung, Head of Yeongju City's Distribution Support Division, stated, "This award is the result of collaboration among producers, distribution organizations, and the administration," and emphasized, "We will continue to strengthen the foundation of mountain area distribution to ensure stable income for farmers and enhance the competitiveness of local agriculture."
