Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation (SH) announced on December 18 that it has launched a "One-Stop Information Service for Childbirth and Childcare" for residents of the Mirinae Jip long-term jeonse housing.
Mirinae Jip is a low birth rate countermeasure by the Seoul Metropolitan Government that provides newlyweds who are planning to have children or get married with stable housing and an opportunity to own a home. SH planned this service to provide practical support throughout the entire process of childbirth and child-rearing, thereby contributing to solving the low birth rate issue. In September, SH signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Seoul Foundation of Women & Family and systematically integrated various support information.
The service provides a one-stop platform for customized information on childbirth, childcare, and child-rearing policies and support from both the national and city governments, as well as information on vaccinations, health checkups, childcare allowances, and daycare fees, from the preparation stage for pregnancy until the child reaches the age of 12. Early next year, SH plans to hold a residents' meeting to gather user feedback and improve the service content based on these opinions to enhance user convenience.
Hwang Sangha, President of SH, stated, "We will expand our role beyond simply supplying housing to become a solution platform that alleviates the burdens associated with childbirth and childcare," adding, "We will continue to work closely with relevant organizations to ensure that Mirinae Jip residents can raise their children in a stable and healthy environment, and we will spare no effort in providing support."
