Dongducheon City and Dongducheon Public Officials Union Hold Signing Ceremony for Public Officials Labor-Management Council Agreement

Dongducheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyungdeok) and the Dongducheon City Public Officials Labor Union (Chairman Kim Youngran) announced on the 18th that they held a signing ceremony for the Public Officials Labor-Management Council agreement on the 16th at the small conference room on the first floor of Dongducheon City Hall.

This Labor-Management Council was convened in response to the union's request in April. The process included a review by the relevant departments for each agenda item and practical consultations. The representatives from both labor and management reached a final agreement on 9 out of a total of 15 agenda items, including an increase in welfare points, the granting of special leave in the month of an employee's birthday, and an increase in education expenses for those scheduled to retire. The two sides also took time to exchange opinions focusing on the agreed items.

Mayor Park Hyungdeok stated, "Both labor and management have reached a meaningful agreement through months of dialogue and compromise," adding, "We will make every effort to promptly implement the agreed-upon items."

Chairman Kim Youngran said, "I expect that the agenda items agreed upon at this Labor-Management Council will help boost employee morale and improve administrative efficiency," and added, "We will continue to work to enhance the welfare and rights of public officials based on ongoing communication and cooperation between labor and management."
