Targeting Medium and Long-Term Veterans in Eastern Gyeongbuk
Emphasizing "Rediscovering the Strengths of Soldiers"
The Veterans Support Center of the Daegu Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Director Kim Jongsul) held a "Veterans Change Management Workshop" on December 18 at the Pohang Employment Welfare Plus Center for veterans who served in the military for a medium or long term.
This workshop was organized for veterans residing in the eastern Gyeongbuk region, including Pohang, who have had difficulty participating due to distance. At the event, participants were provided with comprehensive information on veterans support systems, as well as practical career planning strategies to respond to the changing labor market environment.
Under the theme "Rediscovering the Strengths of Soldiers," the workshop explained how to transform military experience, which is centered on organizational life, into competencies applicable in civilian society, and how to grow into self-driven talent. The focus was on connecting strengths accumulated during military service-such as leadership, responsibility, and crisis management-to the core competencies required by companies.
One veteran who attended the workshop said, "It was an opportunity to newly recognize that the military experience I took for granted can be a significant competitive advantage in civilian companies. It was a meaningful time because I was able to clarify my previously vague career concerns."
An official from the Daegu Veterans Support Center stated, "We will actively support veterans so that they can smoothly adapt to society and design new careers through customized programs for each region."
Veterans who have served for more than five years and wish to participate in the workshop can inquire through the Veterans Support Center website or by phone.
