Yeongyang County and Yeongyang County Women's Organizations Council
Honored with Outstanding Local Government and Outstanding Organization Awards
Yeongyang County in North Gyeongsang Province received the "2025 Outstanding Local Government Award for Supporting Women's Organizations" at the "2025 Gyeongbuk Women's Organizations Council Project Evaluation Meeting" held at the Yecheon Multipurpose Community Center on December 17.
This evaluation meeting, hosted by the Gyeongbuk Women's Organizations Council, comprehensively assessed 22 cities and counties in the province based on their achievements in supporting women's organizations, systematic project implementation, and contributions to the local community. Yeongyang County received high marks in the evaluation and was awarded the Outstanding Local Government Award.
At the same event, the Yeongyang County Women's Organizations Council was also honored with the "Outstanding Bazaar Organization Award" for its exceptional performance in operating a bazaar to raise development funds for women's organizations in 2025, achieving excellent results both in the county evaluation and in organizational performance.
Yeongyang County has actively promoted various initiatives to strengthen the capabilities of women's organizations, encourage community volunteer activities, and expand women's participation in society. Through practical, field-oriented support and the establishment of cooperative systems among organizations, the county has consistently built a strong foundation for women's organizational activities within the region.
Seo Myung-hye, Director of the Resident Welfare Division, stated, "This outstanding award is a valuable achievement made possible by the dedicated efforts of women's organizations and the county's ongoing support," adding, "We will continue to provide administrative and financial support so that women's organizations can firmly establish themselves as key players in the local community."
With this award as a turning point, Yeongyang County plans to further strengthen its policies to expand women's participation in society, promote a culture of gender equality, and enhance support programs for women's organizations.
