According to the city on December 18, the evaluation was conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, which comprehensively analyzed the execution performance and effectiveness of the consumption coupon policy across 243 local governments nationwide to select outstanding municipalities.

The evaluation ensured fairness through both quantitative and qualitative assessments, including ▲distribution performance, ▲usage rate and expansion of usage locations, ▲convenience of application and distribution, ▲promotion performance, and the review of best practices.

In this evaluation, the city received high marks for its "visiting application service," which significantly improved citizen accessibility, and for its strategy to expand usage locations centered on local small businesses. In addition, active promotion both online and offline led to the rapid spread and high usage rate of the consumption coupons. The government recognized the city's policy execution, which simultaneously promoted livelihood recovery and revitalization of local businesses.

The city plans to reinvest the secured special grant of 150 million won into projects related to revitalizing the local economy and stabilizing livelihoods, returning the benefits directly to citizens in tangible ways.

Mayor Lee Haksoo stated, "The results of this consumption coupon evaluation are the outcome of field-oriented public administration aimed at providing real help to both citizens and small business owners. Jeongeup City will continue to prioritize local economic recovery and citizen livelihood stability, consistently implementing policies that bring about noticeable changes for citizens."

Meanwhile, the city plans to proactively respond to the economic downturn by providing a livelihood recovery support grant of 300,000 won per person to all citizens starting January 19 next year.

This support fund totals 30.5 billion won, sourced from budget savings and financial adjustments, and will be provided to all Jeongeup citizens regardless of property or income.
