Tailored Support Including Security Consulting and Equipment Rental
This project is designed to help companies across the semiconductor industry establish their own security management systems and safely protect their core technologies.
In accordance with the "Ordinance on the Promotion and Support of the Semiconductor Industry in Yongin City," the city plans to work with the Yongin Industrial Promotion Agency and the Korea Association for Industrial Technology Security to provide customized technology protection support to 16 semiconductor companies based on their needs through December next year.
The main areas of support include: ▲ security consulting ▲ technology leak prevention services ▲ rental of security equipment (firewalls), among others.
Security consulting will be divided into basic and in-depth sessions. Basic consulting will assist companies in establishing their own protection measures by checking their security environment and diagnosing vulnerabilities.
For companies selected for in-depth consulting, a tailored master plan will be provided, which includes the establishment of security regulations and guidelines, as well as mid- and long-term security management plans, based on on-site inspections.
Depending on the needs of each company, the city will also support technology leak prevention services, such as internal information leak prevention and malware/ransomware detection, and will subsidize the rental fees for integrated security equipment for up to three years.
Detailed information on the support program and application procedures can be found on the Yongin Industrial Promotion Agency website.
Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "Despite the importance of technology security, many companies are unable to respond systematically due to cost and lack of specialized personnel," adding, "We will help companies enhance their competitiveness by enabling effective technology protection."
