Sancheong County Shines in Rural Development Projects ... Wins Excellence Award as Outstanding Institution

Five Awards at the Gyeongnam 4-H Grand Prize Ceremony

Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 18th that it received five awards at the '2025 Gyeongnam 4-H Grand Prize Ceremony and Rural Development Project Performance Report,' held at the Future Agricultural Education Center and Cheonsimgwan of the Gyeongnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services.

First, the Sancheong County Agricultural Technology Center received the 'Excellence Award for Rural Development Project Institution,' recognized for its stable implementation of rural guidance projects and achievements in establishing a foundation for local agriculture.

Song Jeonghyeon, a rural guidance officer in charge of crop environment, received a governor's commendation for enhancing the competitiveness of local farms through the dissemination of new technologies and technical support. Min Byeonggi was also awarded a governor's commendation for his contributions to strengthening the capabilities of small but strong farms.

In addition, Kim Mansu received a commendation from the Administrator of the Rural Development Administration for his contributions to revitalizing 4-H activities and building a youth farmer network, while Kim Taegun was awarded the main prize at the Gyeongnam 4-H Grand Prize in recognition of his diverse projects and volunteer activities.

Throughout this year, Sancheong County has promoted various initiatives, including the dissemination of smart agriculture technology, education for young farmers, management support for small but strong farms, and the development of new income-generating crops.

In particular, the county has been highly evaluated for its efforts to revitalize 4-H activities and strengthen the competitiveness of young farmers.

An official from Sancheong County stated, "This achievement is the result of the efforts of farmers and 4-H members," adding, "We will continue to provide active support to respond to changes in future agriculture and ensure the sustainable growth of local agriculture."
