Official Entry into the K4 League in 2026
Towards a Leap Forward in the Local Sports Ecosystem
The semi-professional football club Geumsan Ginseng FC was officially established on December 17 at the Geumsan Student Gymnasium.
Geumsan Ginseng FC plans to complete facility upgrades and operational preparations before officially joining the K4 League in 2026.
The Geumsan Sports Council and Geumsan Ginseng FC Co., Ltd. held a press conference at the Geumsan County Office briefing room on December 17 to announce the approval of the new K4 League club and the team's founding.
Geumsan Ginseng FC is a community-based semi-professional football club launched with the vision of becoming a “future-oriented club that grows together with the local community, a club where youth dream and the region cheers.”
The club received official approval as a new K4 League club from the Korea Football Association on November 4 and will participate in the official league starting with the 2026 season.
Under the leadership of the CEO, general manager, and head coach, the club plans to operate a diverse squad consisting of semi-professional players, amateur players, and U-18 development players. Through this, the club aims to both secure competitive performance and foster local talent.
The home stadium has been designated as Geumsan Sports Complex, where approximately 14 home games per season will be held. The club aims to attract more than 500 spectators per match by pursuing a community-focused operation, thereby promoting the local football culture and revitalizing the stadium.
In addition, the club plans to establish itself as the region’s leading sports brand by conducting promotional activities through its official social networking services and YouTube channel, as well as operating various engagement programs such as fan days and autograph sessions.
A club representative stated, “We hope Geumsan Ginseng FC will become a source of pride for the residents of Geumsan, and we will strive to shape the future of football in Geumsan.”
