Chonnam National University Professor Ha Junseok Receives Minister of Science and ICT Award Professor Ha Junseok, Department of Chemical Engineering, Chonnam National University.

Chonnam National University announced on December 17 that Professor Ha Junseok of the Department of Chemical Engineering has been awarded the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT Award in recognition of his contributions to the systematic management and promotion of shared use of national research facilities and equipment.


Professor Ha Junseok was highly praised for establishing and operating the Energy Convergence Core Research Support Center at Chonnam National University, as well as for implementing an integrated management system for the efficient administration and operation of research facilities and equipment within the university. Through these efforts, he has increased the utilization rate of research equipment and contributed to creating a researcher-centered support environment.


In addition, his role as president of the Core Research Support Center Council, which brings together equipment operation experts from universities and research institutes nationwide, was recognized for leading improvements in national research equipment operation policies and expanding the foundation for the shared use of research facilities and equipment.


This ministerial award was presented at the "2025 2nd National Research Facilities and Equipment Joint Utilization Performance Presentation," which was held recently. The event was organized to share outstanding achievements in the joint use of research equipment and to discuss sustainable development strategies for the national research infrastructure.


Professor Ha Junseok stated, "Research facilities and equipment are core infrastructure that support the nation's research competitiveness beyond individual projects. Going forward, I will continue to strengthen collaboration between universities and research institutes to create an environment where researchers can utilize equipment more efficiently."
