Province Accelerates Integration of Three Major Hubs (Education, Demonstration, Verification)
Strengthening Execution System Through Infrastructure and Equipment Linkages, Discovery of New Projects

On December 17, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province held the "2025 Gangwon Region Semiconductor Testbed Working-Level Council" meeting at the Korea Semiconductor Education Center in Wonju. The meeting brought together the main organizations responsible for each project, including Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, Wonju City, Gangwon Technopark, Korea Testing Certification (KTC), Kangwon National University, and Yonsei University Mirae Campus.

This meeting followed the previous session held in the first half of the year (May 30) and was organized to share the progress of the three major testbed hub projects launched this year. It also aimed to establish a practical collaboration system by strengthening equipment and infrastructure connections, enhancing educational and demonstration linkages, and exploring new future projects.

The main agenda items included: ▲ plans to activate the connection of semiconductor education, demonstration, and verification infrastructure; ▲ strategies for integrated use and efficient operation of equipment; ▲ sharing strategies to attract companies in light of securing new sites in the Wonju Industrial Complex; ▲ measures to link new national projects; and ▲ the discovery of new tasks. The focus was on further advancing an execution-oriented cooperation system.

Hwang Sunghyun, Director of the Semiconductor Industry Division at Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "Based on the key topics discussed at this council, we will organically connect education, demonstration, and verification infrastructure to complete the Gangwon region semiconductor testbed system, and foster Gangwon as a core hub of the semiconductor industry."
