Chuncheon City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Yuk Donghan) officially launched the 'Gangwon Hupyeong AX Alliance' on the 17th at the Gangwon Creative Development Center and began operating a collaborative system to widely disseminate the achievements of the Bio AX Demonstration Industrial Complex project.

The launch of the Alliance was held in conjunction with the 'Gangwon Hupyeong AX Connect Meet-up' event. The event was attended by more than 100 participants, including officials from the Gangwon Hupyeong Smart Green Industrial Complex and both AX demand and supply companies.
The Gangwon Hupyeong AX Alliance is a collaborative network established after the Hupyeong Smart Green Industrial Complex was selected as an AX Demonstration Industrial Complex by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. It is a public-led cooperation system designed to jointly utilize technology, data, and infrastructure, and to share demonstration results and business models. The Gangwon Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency is responsible for its operation. Through the AX Alliance, the city plans to systematically expand the achievements of the bio-pharmaceutical material AX demonstration industrial complex construction project by 2028 and to establish an implementation model that leads the AI transformation of aging industrial complexes.
On December 1, the Hupyeong Industrial Complex was the only demonstration complex among the 10 smart green industrial complexes nationwide, selected by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, to focus on the bio industry, as it is a region where the biopharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical materials industries are concentrated.
The project involves the Chuncheon Bio Industry Promotion Agency, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation Chuncheon Branch, Gangwon Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency, Gangwon ICT Convergence Research Institute, RMS Platform, as well as participating bio companies, AX technology companies, and research institutes. AX refers to an industrial transformation method that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze, predict, and optimize the entire manufacturing process, with the goal of improving productivity, enhancing quality, and reducing energy consumption simultaneously.
Meanwhile, the Connect Meet-up program on the same day featured demonstration-oriented exchanges that directly connected AX demand companies and supply companies. The event included presentations of practical AX solutions applicable to manufacturing AI, digital twins, quality prediction, and production optimization, as well as company-specific consultations and exhibitions. In addition, the Ultra-Wide Area AX Governance Operating Committee meeting provided advice on strategies for expanding the project and linking it with policy initiatives.
An official from Chuncheon City stated, "The AX Alliance is a collaborative platform that drives the AI transformation of the entire industrial complex by sharing demonstration results and business models," adding, "We will spare no effort to support Chuncheon in establishing itself as a city leading innovation in the convergence of bio and AI manufacturing."
