International Students Win Gold and Bronze Prizes
Spotlight on Achievements in Global K-Beauty Education

Students from the K-Beauty Skin and Nail Department at Gyeongnam Information College, known as "Busan's Leading Community College," recently achieved the remarkable feat of having all participants in the nail category win awards at the "18th K-Beauty King Makeup Festival Award 2025," held at Myongji University.

This competition, organized and hosted by the Korea Makeup Professional Job Exchange Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, is the most prestigious comprehensive beauty skills competition in Korea.


A total of 44 students from the K-Beauty Skin and Nail Department's nail art program at Gyeongnam Information College participated in 13 categories, including basic and art divisions, submitting 89 works. Every participant received an award, including the Seoul Mayor's Award, the International Skills Olympics President's Award, the Korea Federation of SMEs President's Award, and the National Assembly Member's Award, demonstrating their recognized skills.


Notably, international students Sophia Parsons (Japan), Miyu Aikawa (Japan), and Pham Oknhi (Vietnam) each received gold and bronze prizes, drawing attention to the department's achievements in educating international students as well.


Park Sehee, head of the K-Beauty Skin and Nail Department, stated, "This year's results are the outcome of our efforts to strengthen practical, hands-on education by launching the region's first nail art program. We will continue to nurture professional talent in the K-nail field through customized on-site training."


Starting in the 2026 academic year, Gyeongnam Information College plans to reorganize its curriculum by integrating the K-Beauty Skin and Nail Department and the K-Beauty Health Department into the "Global K-Beauty Department," recruiting 160 new students and accelerating its efforts to foster global K-beauty talent.
